Another diesel price hike; 11th in one year

Dehradun : Is fuel price hike this often justified ? Diesel prices were hiked again for the 11th time in almost one year by 50 paise per litre while petrol prices remained unchanged effective Saturday midnight.

Petrol prices were earlier reduced by Rs. 1.15 a litre on October 31, while diesel prices were raised by 50 paise per litre.

The diesel price hike came in sync with the January decision of the government to allow oil companies freedom to hike prices in small doses every month to wipe out mounting losses. This will again trigger the price hike of other things/services as transportation cost will increase.
